We recently completed a job where the client wanted all the shades to be hidden away out of sight. During the framing stage, we allowed room in the ceiling directly above the windows where a pocket could be built to hide the Lutron motorized roller shades. With the addition of a bottom flap system, the shade hardware can be covered, leaving only a 1.5" slit in the ceiling. The finished product looks amazing, having the shades nearly invisible when opened. When closed, the motorized roller shades glide out of the ceiling pocket. The client can control these motorized shades from the Lutron remotes, the smartphone app, and also the Control4 integrated home automation system.
